Louis van Gaal’s future as Manchester Unitedmanager has been placed in further doubt after the Dutchman was left out of a promotional video to promote the club’s upcoming tour of China.
Van Gaal’s job has been the subject of continuous speculation, with former Chelseaboss Jose Mourinho strongly linked with a takeover at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils chief is about to enter the final year of the three-year contract he signed when he succeeded David Moyes in 2014, but he was ominously left out of the 48-second clip on the club’s website to promote their summer tour of the Far East.
The video featured 14 members of the current squad and several former players, including Shingji Kagawa and legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The video for last summer’s tour to the United States featured Van Gaal prominently, but his position has come under intense scrutiny pressure this season with the team now out of European competition and well outside of thePremier League title race.
United’s hopes of a top-four finish and Champions League qualification for next season were boosted by victory in the Manchester derby on Sunday and they face West Ham in an FA Cup quarter-final replay on April 13.
But leaving Van Gaal out of the promotional video for the International Champions Cup games against Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai on July 22 and Manchester City in Beijing three days later has added to speculation that the Dutchman’s time could be up.
