National Diploma (ND) graduate of the Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku,aged,23 ,Obed Ikenna Oluchi  confessed to have been lured into crime due to the fact of his desperation for cash to repay his creditor.
He said,he ventured into crime after he embezzled money supposed for online sports bettingat the betting shop he worked.
He made this confession few days ago at the Delta State Police Command .He was once paraded alongside others for attempted kidnapping and armed robbery.
According to him, “I work with Bet9ja.I finished my ND from Delta State Poly Ogwashi-Uku. I studied Office Management and Technology. I was once misled by a friend, because I needed money. A policeman came to our betting shop and he performed a sport betting worth N30,000 which I  booked  myself but did not play the game due to the fact I  am thinking it will  not win. But the sport won and the policemen wanted to claim his winnings worth over N250,0 00 .Because I did  not play the coupon so I couldn’t give him his winnings. So i was striving to find cash that lured me into crime. The proprietor of the betting shop was upset when he found out what happened”.
Delta State Police Commissioner, Mr. Zanna Ibrahim who briefed news men stated the suspect was a member of a gang that attacked Mr. Amobi Molokwu in the front of his gate in the back of Cornerstone International School ,off Okpanam, however he narrowly escaped .
He stated the hoodlums succeeded in robbing him of his RAV 4 Jeep with a number plate ASB 176 AV, his phones and other valuables, with  “intelligence gathered  led to the arrest of Ignatius Obagha  who is in possession of the victim’s Infinix smartphone earlier recovered.”
Ibrahim Stated Ignatius Obagha following his  confession, he mentioned Obed Ikenna Oluchi, Ifeanyi Aniekwe,Ifeanyi Nwosu and Mustapha Ali a.k.a Bababyo as gang contributors .
Ibrahim said Obed Ikenna Oluchi was involved in the robbery incident that happened at Globe Supermarket, Okpanam on 27/7/2017 which leads to the murder of a attorney Festus Ashiedu.
He said he is not involved in murder of Lawyer Festus Ashiedu.
He denied killing the lawyer, adding that the lawyer was once struggling with their gang leader with the keys of his motor and he was  shot in the process.
His words: “I was  not the one who killed the man, it was the ring leader that killed the lawyer. The man switched off the ignition of  his car so our gang wanted to snatch the vehicle from him and he wasstruggling with our ring leader for the car keys and was shot. Our efort to rob the supermarket failed as the N1.5 million had already been moved earlier than we rearch there”.
