Tyson Fury set to fight Deontay WilderAugust 18, 2018
Tyson Fury will challenge Deontay Wilder for the WBC heavyweight world title later this year.
Full details of the heavyweight clash will be made public next week, with the bout rumoured for a November or December date in New York or Las Vegas.
Fury will fight for the world heavyweight title once again
The bout was officially announced in the ring after Fury’s second comeback fight against Francesco Pianeta in Belfast on Saturday night.
As for the fight itself, Fury boxed a controlled, composed and comfortable performance, winning every round on the way to a decision victory.
Fury: “I think it was a calculated boxing performance as promised… I was very happy with the performance.
“It’s no secret I need the rounds.”

Deontay Wilder then entered the ring and declared: “We ready now, this fight will happen, this fight is official, it’s on.”
Promoter Frank Warren concurred with the American, explaining that the full details regarding date and venue for the occasion will be announced this coming week.
“I am going to knock you out,” Wilder continued, addressing Fury directly, “I’mma knock you out in devastating fashion.”
The Lineal champion responded: “I got the rounds tonight, but one thing I promise once I go to Las Vegas is I’m knocking you the f*** out.
Fury was far more serious than in his first comeback bout
The former unified champion, who never lost any of his titles in the ring, is set to fight for the only belt he never previously held – the WBC.
Fury claimed the WBA, WBO and IBF world titles when he stunned long-time champion Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015.
However, his scheduled rematch with Klitschko was postponed and then cancelled in 2016, with the ‘Gypsy King’ ultimately stripped of all of his belts.
He finally returned to the ring after almost 1000 days on June 9 2018, with a win over Albania’s Sefer Seferi.
After that bout and now the win over Pianeta, Fury has seemingly deemed himself ready to jump up in levels and fight on the biggest stage once again.
