Toni Kroos Admits Real Madrid Will Struggle To Replace Cristiano Ronaldo's Goals

Toni Kroos has conceded that Real Madrid will miss the 50 or so goals Cristiano Ronaldo effectively guaranteed every season at the Santiago Bernabeu before his £99.2 million departure to Juventus on July 10.
However, the German midfielder is still adamant Real will be a tough proposition as they look to regain the La Liga title in 2018-19 and win a fourth consecutive UEFA Champions League, per Kicker (h/t Dermot Corrigan of ESPN.com): ”It’ll be difficult to compensate 50 goals per season. Cristiano has been an important cornerstone for us in the past years, and was instrumental for our successes. In spite of that I am absolutely convinced of our team. We will again be hard to beat this term.”
Ronaldo, 33, joined Real from Manchester United in 2009 for £80 million and departed last month after etching his name in the club’s record books, per Squawka:
He has been top scorer in the Champions League in each of the last six seasons and netted 26 goals in 27 La Liga games last season, a tally 10 better than Gareth Bale’s, Real’s second-highest scorer in 2017-18.
Real have yet to splash out on a galactico replacement for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Bale, 29, is likely to play a more prominent role in the Portuguese star’s absence, while Isco and Marco Asensio will also be called on to find the net more.
There is still the possibility Los Blancos could bring in a major signing with Eden Hazard having been heavily linked, per Dom Farrell of Goal.
The Belgian is a brilliant winger who can also play in the No. 9 role, but he has never scored more than 16 goals in a single Premier League season.
Ronaldo never failed to reach the 25 mark in each of his nine La Liga seasons and reached 40 in three Spanish top-flight campaigns.
There is arguably not a player on the planet who Real could sign to replace Ronaldo’s goals, and new manager Julen Lopetegui will need a number of players to chip in if they are not to suffer without hi
