Talking to BBC Radio Berkshire before the match, Chambers said she returned to work with the encouragement of her family.
“I have a fantastic support network around me, family that understand my job, understand my role and are happy to support me off the pitch as much as possible,” she said.
“It’s great because it will help me and the team.”
Chambers has been involved with Reading Women since the club’s inception, having captained the Royals before going on to manage the side, and is determined to continue to play a lead roll.
“I can’t leave it alone,” she said.
