New England Revolution star Tajon Buchanan helped the Canadian men’s national soccer team to a 4-1 win over Panama. This happened in a World Cup qualifier match Wednesday night — and Drake apparently took notice.

The rapper and fellow Canadian posed for a photo with Buchanan following the comeback win. The 22-year-old posted it on his Instagram story.

Buchanan contributed a goal and a header that resulted in a Panama own goal during the win in Toronto.Canada is trying to qualify for just their second-ever World Cup. The team now sits in the third and final spot in CONCACAF’s final qualification round for a direct berth.

However, Buchanan was not necessarily the first member of the team Drake sought to meet Wednesday night. Canadian coach John Herdman said after the match that Drake texted the team’s 20-year-old phenom Alphonso Davies. And wanted to meet the team. Drake also met with Davies and posted a photo of his jersey on his own Instagram. After all, it was Davies who delivered the highlight of the night.

However, Buchanan has also been making a name for himself.

In August, the Revolution agreed to sell Buchanan to the Belgian team Club Brugge. He was sold for a club record fee of $7 million. It’s with a clause to get 10 percent of any additional transfer fees.

However, he will finish the MLS season on loan with the Revs. They have already clinched the top playoff seed in the Eastern Conference.

Revolutions are on the brink of winning the first Supporters Shield in team history.

Their next game is this Saturday against the Chicago Fire at Gillette Stadium.
