De Ligt rules out January exit from Ajax

Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt will not be leaving the club during the January transfer window.

Juventus had been heavily linked with a move for the 19-year-old skipper, while John van Loen has urged him to consider Manchester United.

The Amsterdam club are two points adrift of Eredivisie leaders PSV and into the last-16 of the Champions League, giving De Ligt planty of incentive to stay.

“A move will not be happening this transfer window,” De Ligt told NOS.

“Ajax fans will not have to worry about that. 

“We want to win the Eredivisie title and will need every player to get there.”
