CWU women's basketball falls to NNU

ELLENSBURG, Wash. — Lexi Tubbs had 31 points and nine rebounds, and Northwest Nazarene build a double-digit lead before hanging on for a 74-71 victory over Central Washington in a GNAC women’s basketball game Tuesday at Nicholson Pavilion.
Central got within three points three times in the final 1:23, the last time with six seconds to play. Alexis Pana, who led Central with 19 points, made a steal after that, but her 3-pointer to tie was off the mark.
Talor Baird had 14 points and nine rebounds, and Rachel Lorenston had 12 points for the Wildcats, who fell behind after getting outscored 18-6 in the second quarter and still trailed by double digits midway through the fourth.
The Wildcats had their six-game winning streak snapped, falling to 10-5 in the GNAC and 14-9 overall. Northwest Nazarene moved to 13-2 in the conference and 17-3 overall.
