Ronaldo matches record for 2nd-most goals scored by a European international
Cristiano Ronaldo is closing in on another record.
The Real Madrid star moved into a tie for second place among European internationals when he scored his 75th goal for Portugal during Saturday’s Confederations Cup match against New Zealand.
The goal moves Ronaldo into a tie with Hungarian legend Sandor Kocsis.
Ferenc Puskas holds the record after finding the back of the net 84 times during his illustrious career with Hungary.
In all, Ronaldo has now scored 60 goals in competitive matches – the most by a European international – and another 15 in friendlies.
