Cech Retires From International Football

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech announced his retirement from international football. He made his debut in 2002 and has played 124 matches for Czech Republic, more than any other player  However, his team finished at the bottom of Group D in the Euros but Cech has said that the Euro exit has nothing to do with his retirement. He said, “It is a definite decision. The fact we did not win at the Euros had no effect on my decision, although obviously, I would have preferred a triumphant farewell.” He further added that he will not be able  to continue till 2018 World Cup and that it is better to make the decision now and close a beautiful chapter.
