Arsenal transfer option increased after loosing their English premier league opener last weekend. will want to make further additions to their squad once the deal to sign Martin Odegaard is over the line. Odegaard has been a top target for Mikel Arteta throughout the summer transfer window. The 22-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at the Emirates.

Arteta made his feelings clear on Odegaard following the final game of his loan spell and confirmed his intentions to re-sign him.

He said: “Well we have a very clear and strong opinion on what we would like to do. He’s not our player.

“We’ll have discussions in the next few weeks, but first of all we need to respect that he’s a Real Madrid player. We’ll have those communications.”

And it appears increasingly likely that Odegaard will again become an Arsenal player.

The Athletic says an agreement will be reached at around £30million with Real.

Odegaard’s arrival will fulfil Arteta’s wish of bringing in an attacking midfielder.

However, he is still keen to recruit in a number of other areas.

Firstly, signing a goalkeeper is a necessity. Arsenal do not have a senior back-up to Bernd Leno that Arteta can rely on.

Aaron Ramsdale remains the top target and the Sheffield Star claimed on Tuesday that the Gunners are confident of agreeing a deal at £28m.

That seems a lot of money for a No 2 but Leno has entered the final two years of his contract so Ramsdale could end up becoming the first choice at the Emirates.

Arsenal are also still in the market for a right-back.

The Athletic claims Hector Bellerin is determined to leave the club and a replacement will likely be sought if he gets his wish.

Bellerin has been offered to Barcelona in a potential swap deal for Emerson Royal, though the report says that deal is not advanced.

Arteta cannot rely on Calum Chambers or Cedric Soares as his main options in that position.

The third further signing Arsenal want is a striker.

They have missed out on Tammy Abraham but speculation that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette could leave the club has ramped up in recent days.

Even if only one of the two leaves, Arsenal transfer target would likely look for attacking reinforcements.

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol claimed earlier this month a striker is the priority for Arsenal.

Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic have both been linked.

However, Tottenham are also interested in the Serie A duo as potential Harry Kane replacements
